Voilà dix ans qu'Yves Lion, architecte urbaniste et professeur, a choisi de former les Ateliers Lion associés. Aujourd'hui, une cinquantaine d'architectes, urbanistes et paysagistes travaillent au sein de l'agence autour d'une même volonté : répondre aux enjeux propres à l'urbanité contemporaine en développant des « outils d'aménagement transdisciplinaires ».

L'aménagement de deux métropoles européennes, la création de nouveaux quartiers ou la réorganisation de secteurs marqués par les infrastructures sont autant de projets révélateurs de la démarche de l'agence. Intemporels, ils soulignent également son engagement dans les questions urbaines et architecturales actuelles.

It is now ten years since architect, urban designer and teacher Yves Lion set up Ateliers Lion Associés. Today, some fifty architects, urban designers and landscape designers work together in the firm, all eager to respond to the needs of contemporary urban design by developing « cross-disciplinary development tools ».

Development projects in two major European cities, the creation of new urban districts and the reorganisation of areas with key infrastructures are all initiatives that reflect the firm's approach. Although timeless, they also highlight its on-going commitment to addressing today's urban and architectural issues.

This monograph is divided into six parts : « Town and Country », « Infrastructure », « Housing », « Transformations », « Greater Paris - Greater Moscow », and « Three Paris Institutions ». A wealth of interviews, analytical commentary and photographs provides an ideal opportunity to discover or rediscover the firm's work and explore its main areas of investigation.
